Sustainable production and consumption is a mandatory trend in sustainable development, contributing to efficient economic development, environmental protection, poverty reduction, and economic restructuring. Promoting sustainable production and consumption also promotes circular economy and sustainable development.
In order to meet the general objectives of the government in implementing the National Action Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption for 2021-2030, the Prime Minister has issued Decision No. 889/QD-TTg dated June 24, 2020 to approve the National Action Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption for 2021-2030.
In which, determine the objective reads "Promote efficient, sustainable management, exploitation and use of resources, fuels, raw materials, encourage the development of environmentally friendly resources, fuels, raw materials and products that can be regenerated, reused and recycled; promotion of sustainable production and consumption on the basis of innovation, creativity, practice, and development of sustainable production and consumption models, enhance sustainable domestic production and consumption, create stable and green jobs, promote sustainable lifestyles and improve the quality of people's lives, aiming at developing a circular economy in Vietnam.”
On August 3, 2024, the Binh Duong Trade Promotion and Industrial Development Center collaborated with the Phu Chanh Industrial Cluster to organize a training course on sustainable production and consumption for managers and producers of industrial enterprises in Binh Duong province.

Attending and delivering the opening speech at the training class, Mrs. Nguyen Thuy Hang, Director of the provincial Center for Trade and Industrial Development, hoped that the training class would help businesses in production to understand the direction, policies, and solutions to promote sustainable production and consumption activities; to support businesses in managing and efficiently using natural resources, materials, energy, and reducing environmental pollution emissions; thereby, reducing product costs, enhancing the competitiveness of businesses in the market, aiming for sustainable business development through support programs for sustainable production and consumption.

In the training class, delegates listen to presenters exchanging and sharing information about sustainable production and consumption laws, environmental protection laws, sanctions, environmental protection funds, and knowledge and experiences in sustainable production and consumption, cleaner production; circular economy models for resources, fuels, and materials in production and consumption activities; developing concentrated industrial clusters with centralized environmental treatment systems.
The development of sustainable linkages between distribution and retail facilities with suppliers of environmentally friendly raw materials, goods, and products is encouraged to promote sustainable distribution and consumption of environmentally friendly products.
Sustainable production and consumption training classes are organized annually by the Binh Duong Center for Trade and Industrial Development, targeting various groups, especially those from industrial manufacturing businesses in the province.
This is a useful information channel to promote and help businesses understand the benefits and importance of sustainable production and consumption. At the same time, it helps businesses access and take advantage of support programs for sustainable production and consumption in Binh Duong province by the connection with the Binh Duong Center for Trade and Industrial Development.
