Cyclist Tran Van Quyen won first place in the second stage from Vung Tau City to Phan Thiet City of 168 km on June 22.

 

The second stage started in a windy and lighty sunny weather which was challenging even to winners of the first stage.

 

The yellow shirt winner Vo Phu Trung of BVTV An Giang and blue shirt Nguyen Truong Tai of Domesco Dong Thap were locked down by other teams, giving chances for other cyclists to move forward through narrow and slopy routes. After wining first sprint from Ho Coc, cyclists Tran Van Quyen and Thanh Nhan kept detached from others but failed. They even was catched up by the other cyclists in Ham Tan, Binh Thuan due to wide open lanes of 1A National Highway. By reaching Phan Thiet City at 1km boundary, the leading cyclists were catched up by others.

 

At finish line, Tran Van Quyen of Quan khu 7 made an astonishing sprint to turn down Thanh Nhan by 1 second and won the first place after 3 hours 51 minutes and 31 seconds.
