U21 Vietnam trounces Malaysia 5-1

Vietnam’s U21 team on October 21 had a convincing 5-1 win over defending champion Malaysia to enter the final round of the 7th International Football Tournament.

The tourney is being held in Ninh Thuan province under the sponsorship of Thanh Nien (Youth) newspaper.

Vietnam’s five goals were scored by Viet Phong, Van Quach Tan, Van Thanh, Van Thuan and Khac Ngoc, while Malaysia’s single goad was made by striker Mahinan.

The Vietnamese squad, led by coach Dinh Van Dung, will meet Sydney FC again in the final round.

The match is due to start at 6pm on October 23 at Ninh Thuan stadium.
