Uniting and gathering youths promoted

Provincial Business Bloc’s Youth Union has taken solutions on uniting and gathering youths, thereby strongly upholding their voluntary role in the cause of national defence and construction.

Huynh Thanh Tra, Secretary of provincial Business Bloc’s Youth Union said that the bloc’s Youth Union has realized a variety of practical and concrete activities under the Project of “Uniting and gathering young workers for 2011-2015 and 2016-2020”. The bloc’s Youth Union successfully organized many programs taking care of young workers’ spiritual and material lives over the past time. Particularly, the bloc’s Youth Union donated houses of compassion to young workers with difficult circumstances; gave legal support for young workers, organized weekend playgrounds, sports festivals, art performances for them; provided them with reproductive health consultancy, bus tickets, gifts….All expressed the attention of the bloc’s Youth Union in caring, educating and orienting thought and lifestyle among young workers.

Since 2012, the bloc’s Youth Union has set up 31 branches and clubs or 51.7% compared to the set target. The whole bloc now has a total of 4,722 members, up 392.2% against the first period of the tenure. In the 2012-2017 tenure, the bloc’s Youth Union donated 25 houses of compassion to needy youths; organized 5 “Gathering in Tet holiday” programs, 5 “workers’ week” programs, 20 weekend playgrounds, over 60 art performances; offered free bus tickets and more than 6,000 gifts with a total expense of more than VND1billion…to needy workers.

Upholding its advantages, the bloc’s Youth Union also mobilized sectors, departments, mass organizations and businesses to well organize the annual Workers’ Month and Week; continued considering and selecting needy young workers to receive support from provincial Support Fund for Alien Poor Youth Workers…

Equitization in State-run enterprises is an inevitable process, but this will also partially affect the operational situation of the Youth Union. That’s reason why the Youth Union needs to improve activities in both content and form in order to be in line with the current context. This is also the vital premise of the bloc’s Youth Unions at all levels to undertake works and programs, contributing to fulfilling enterprises’ plans on production-business in the bloc, promoting the local socio-economic development and taking care of legitimate interests and rights of youths, especially young workers.

It is known that in the 2012-2017 tenure, the bloc’s Youth Union donated 5 houses of compassion and 15 “dream” apartments to Youth Union members and young workers with difficult circumstances; carried out a youth work on “beautifying heroic martyrs’ tombs” at provincial Martyrs’ Cemetery on great holidays, a “For beloved young generation” youth work with scholarships, notebooks…worth VND500million given, a “Lighting rural road” youth work in new-style rural communes with a total value of more than VND200million, a “For the sentimental attachment to border areas and remote islands” youth work worth VND500million…
