Upholding core role, strengthening great national unity bloc

Early September 13, provincial Fatherland Front Committee held a conference to summarize 20 years of organizing the Great National Solidarity Festival for the period of 2003-2023 at provincial Convention and Exhibition Center. The conference was attended by Nguyen Huu Dung, Vice-Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Central Committee; Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation; Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council; members of provincial Party Standing Committee; former provincial leaders and more than 450 delegates who are officials of provincial Fatherland Front Committees at all levels.

Over the past 20 years, the organization of the "Great National Solidarity Festival" in residential areas was implemented by provincial Fatherland Front Committee at all levels throughout residential areas, with the active participation of the people. The festival aimed at praising good and creative ways, promoting the advantages and strong points of quarters, creating consensus among the people to participate in socio-economic development, building up the great national solidarity bloc. Every year, provincial leaders return to residential areas to attend the festival with the people; participate in visiting, giving gifts for poor households, near-poor ones, poor-but-excellent students, offering “great solidarity” houses...Since 2013, at the festival, the whole province has given more than 1,800 gifts worth over VND4.6 billion to the poor from the Funds for the Poor at all levels and socialization sources.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Loi called on provincial Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and member organizations to continue playing a core role in building and strengthening the great national unity bloc; continue diversifying forms of gathering and mobilizing people to promote and improve the quality of campaigns and emulation movements for in-depth development with strong focus on the grassroots and alignment with goals and tasks on provincial development. Provincial Fatherland Front Committees at all levels should pay attention to mobilizing people to participate in building the Party, building the government, preventing, combating corruption and negativity, strengthening the local political system...

At the conference, provincial People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee rewarded 64 collectives for their excellent performance in organizing the Great National Solidarity Festival for the period of 2003-2023; presented a symbolic board of gifts to the local poor households.
