Upholding role of the elderly in spirit of "Elderly people set bright examples"

Early February 25, provincial Association of the Elderly held its congress for the 2021-2026 tenure. The event was attended by Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly; Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation; Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee.

In the 2016-2021 tenure, activities of provincial Associations of the Elderly at all levels achieved many important results, completing the tasks and targets set out. In the last tenure, they developed 21,015 members, up 9,275 compared to the previous tenure. Speaking at the congress, Mr. Binh acknowledged and praised achievements done by provincial Association of the Elderly in the past tenure. With the spirit of "Elderly people set bright examples", provincial Associations of the Elderly at all levels, officers and members continued upholding the tradition of solidarity, overcoming all difficulties, actively striving to build up a comprehensively strong organization... Especially, the province’s policies to take care of the elderly were higher than the national average...

The congress elected an executive board of provincial Association of the Elderly for the 2021-2026 tenure, including 13 members. Nguyen Xuan Vinh were re-elected as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of provincial Association of the Elderly for the 2021-2026 tenure, respectively. The congress also nominated the Inspection Commission of provincial Association of the Elderly for the 2021-2026 tenure.
