Upholding the spirit of "I am for everyone"

With the action motto of "I am for everyone", since its establishment, provincial Red Cross Society has step by step consolidated, perfected while guiding its branches to well perform a task as humanitarian "bridge" entrusted by the Party, State and people. With its prestige, the association has connected a lot of resources in the society to support people with many difficulties to have more faith and conditions to rise up in life.

Many practical celebrations

Binh Duong provincial Red Cross Society, formerly known as the Red Cross Society of Song Be province, was established on July 26, 1976. Experiencing many ups and downs, the association has gradually developed, stabilized its organization, implemented many meaningful humanitarian activities, contributing to a better life for people who still face many difficulties, especially disadvantaged groups in the society.

"Zero-dong” market-days conducted by provincial Red Cross Society have shared difficulties with many people

Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of provincial Red Cross Society said that the 47th anniversary of the establishment of provincial Red Cross is not only an opportunity to review traditions, but also an opportunity for each person to do humanitarian activities, showing the role and responsibility in inheriting and promoting the nation's fine tradition of kindness. Over the past few days, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have organized a lot of meaningful humanitarian activities to support people in and out of the province.

Recently, provincial Red Cross Society has coordinated with relevant units to successfully organize a “return-to-the-root” journey, giving 2,100 gifts worth more than VND 2.6 billion for poor beneficiary families in Binh Phuoc province. This is one of the meaningful activities, showing the Party and State's attention to policy beneficiary families, disadvantaged ones as well as the emotional attachment of Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces.

Districts, towns and cities in the province have also organized many celeberations. Ngo Thi Xuyen, Chairwoman of Dau Tieng district’s Red Cross Society said that on the occasion of the association's traditional day and the 76th anniversary of the Invalids and Martyrs' Day, the district’s Red Cross Society has mobilized donors to support gifts for the local heroic Vietnamese mothers; organized a “Zero- dong” market-day to support necessities for 100 people in need in Dinh Hiep commune with a total cost of more than VND110 million... In Thu Dau Mot city, Tan Uyen city, in addition to the "Zero-dong” market-days, the model of "Zero-dong” kitchen implemented by Red Cross Societies at all levels and volunteers have donated thousands of meals to disadvantaged people.

On this occasion, many Red Cross Societies of communes, wards and townships have also mobilized donors to organize many programs providing medical check-ups, medicine and gifts for  the local policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged people.

Upholding the spirit of humanity

Mrs. Trinh added that after 47 years of establishment and development, as of now, provincial Red Cross Society has grown continuously. With the role of a humanitarian "bridge", all activities of the association always aim for the happiness of the people, for those who are vulnerable and unhappy in the community. The activities carried out by the association in recent years have become more and more diverse and practical.

One of the humanitarian activities promoted very effectively by provincial Red Cross Society in recent years is the model of "Zero-dong” market-day. This model has been implemented by provincial Red Cross Society since May 2018 and is very effective during the complicated development of the Covid-19 pandemic in the province (from May 2021). So far, the model has been replicated in all 9 districts, towns and cities in the province. In the first 6 months of 2023, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels held 120 “Zero-dong” maket-days, with a total value of VND 15.2 billion, offering help to more than 21,930 people.

In addition to the model of "Zero-dong” market-day, provincial Red Cross Society has implemented many other humanitarian activities with high efficiency, namely the Movement of "kindness Tet"; the campaign "Each organization, each individual should stick to a humanitarian address"; the program of building “Red Cross” houses; the models of "Love kitchen", "Charity kitchen”, “Chairty rice jar", "Raising piggy banks", ... Through its humanitarian activities, every year, provincial Red Cross Association supported hundreds of thousands of people with difficult circumstances in life.

It can be affirmed that the practical activities carried out by provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels over the past time have opportunely encouraged and shared difficulties with the supported beneficiaries, contributing to joining hands with all-levels authorities and sectors to well perform the local social welfare work. “With the spirit of “For everyone, everywhere”, “All for the poor and vulnerable in society”, provincial Red Cross Society will further strive to build up a stronger and stronger association while mobilizing resources in the society to create humanitarian strength to support disadvantaged cases to rise up and spread the humanitarian spirit widely in the community", shared Mrs. Trinh.

In the first 6 months of 2023, the total value of humanitarian activities, disaster prevention and response, public healthcare, and voluntary blood donation performed by provincial Red Cross Society reached over VND 87 billion, helping over 208,000 people with difficult circumstances.
