Provincial planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, has set the goal that by 2030, urban areas must have wastewater collection and treatment systems. Additionally, over 60% of urban wastewater must meet environmental technical standards.
To achieve this goal, all factories in industrial zones, compounds and craft villages must have on-site wastewater treatment facilities before sending wastewater to centralized treatment stations. Dispersed factories and enterprises must also have their own wastewater treatment systems that comply with environmental standards. Moreover, Binh Duong will continue upgrading, expanding and improving the efficiency of large-scale centralized wastewater collection and treatment systems in urban areas, industrial zones, compounds and craft villages. These systems must meet environmental technical standards before discharging treated wastewater into receiving sources. The location, scale and capacity of wastewater treatment systems are outlined in urban and district-level regional planning.
