Urban greenery campaign launched among Catholic community in TDM city

Early August 23, Phu Cuong Deanery under Phu Cuong Diocese held a ceremony in response of Thu Dau Mot (TDM) city’s urban greenery campaign at Phu Cuong Cathedral.

The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of provincial People’s Council; Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Van Dong, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Secretary of Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee, along with Catholic dignitaries, priests and hundreds of parishioners from Phu Cuong Deanery.

During the ceremony, Nguyen Thu Cuc, Chairwoman of TDM city’s People’s Committee, on behalf of the city's leaders, spoke highly the meaningful program of Phu Cuong Deanery and shared that the city's greenery campaign has received support from officials, Party members and people from all strata. So far, 101 enterprises and 65 households have donated 75,735 trees of various kinds, with a total value of VND 33.5 billion under the campaign.

After the ceremony, delegates, Catholic priests, monks and parishioners participated in planting trees in Phu Cuong Cathedral.
