War veterans in Tan Uyen district’s Uyen Hung township have promoted emulation movements in production-business, actively helped each other overcome difficulties and got involved in social activities…

 Good at doing business

 Duong Dinh Be, or called Ba Be is now well-known as an outstanding war veteran in production-business in Tan Uyen district’s Uyen Hung township.

 In 1989, after retirement, Ba Be and his family was granted a land of more than 2,000 sq.m for paddy and crops cultivation. He also got involved in breeding cows, pigs and growing rubber, cashew trees. Currently, he owns 20 ha of rubber trees with the annual average profit of more than VND200mln.

 Similarly, Ngo Van Xich, 81, is also an outstanding war veteran in Uyen Hung township. Since 1988, after retirement, he has directly got involved in doing farm work. He has used more than 16 ha of farm land to grow rubber and cashew trees. He has also developed production and business under the VAC model.

 It is known that he has 7 children. Each of them is granted 3 ha of rubber, cashew trees with the annual average income of VND200mln. Although being 81 years old, he is now still enthusiastic in instructing his children in economic development.

 Apart from Duong Dinh Be and Ngo Van Xinh, many other war veterans in Uyen Hung township are very good at doing business, contributing to building a strong and prosperous homeland.

 Actively getting involved in social activities

 Besides of being good at doing business, Duong Dinh Be, Ngo Van Xinh and many other war veterans in Uyen Hung township have actively got involved in the social activities of the local War Veterans Society.

 It is known that Duong Dinh Be worked as chairman of Uyen Hung township War Veterans Society during the two tenures. Now, he is also very active to take part in activities and movements launched by the local War Veterans Society and other societies…

 Whilst, Ngo Van Xich has written poems and sent them to the local War Veterans Society. With mementoes and certificates of merit won, they have become one of the local War Veterans Society’s outstanding members.
