Vaccines still the most important tool in Covid-19 fight

As of yesterday afternoon (December 13), the whole country administered nearly 133 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine. There were 44 out 63 provinces and cities wih over 90% of the population aged 18 and above with at least 1 dose of vaccine. Among them, 30 provinces with vaccine coverage reached over 95%. Binh Duong was a locality in the top list of vaccine coverage thanks to the rapid implementation of the vaccine strategy over the past time so that today, all the local activities can return to the state of safe adaptation.

From a hot spot of the epidemic, going through a very difficult time, due to the rapid spread of new strains, the scarcity of vaccines, and the lack of experience..., now Binh Duong has become one of the country’s localities adapting safely to the pandemic in the soonest time. With flexibility, decisiveness and patience in administration, provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control quickly approached the source of vaccines to bring back to the province as soon as possible to inject people.

As of December 12, the whole province administered more than 4.3 million out of more than 5.05 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine distributed by the Ministry of Health. There were more than 2.46 million people with the first shot and more than 1.84 million with the second shot. Of the total of over 4.3 million does of Covid-19 vaccine administered, there were 119,045 doses for children aged 12-14 year olds and 137,661 doses for those aged 15-17 year olds. The rapid vaccination campaign was considered as a miracle and an extraordinary solution in the unusual situation of the epidemic as well as the vaccine supply at that time. In order to create herb immunity and well realize the dual goals, provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan on further injecting Covid-19 vaccine to the entire population in 2022. Accordingly, the province will administer third Covid-19 vaccine shots from January 1, 2022.

Along with other Covid-19 prevention and control solutions, vaccines are still the most important tool to continue effectively controlling and preventing the pandemic while promoting socio-economic development, ensuring people's lives. Therefore, the province’s proactiveness in the vaccination plan has contributed to creating herb immunity, restarting the effective plan on socio-economic development as demonstrated over the past time. This has contributed to multiplying the trust of people and enterprises when in a short time, the province’s investment promotion activities as well as contracts signed, including some large-scale, breakthrough projects to create a momentum for the local sustainable development. In his visit to Binh Duong yesterday, the Consul General of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh city also gave many compliments to the province in Covid-19 prevention and control to protect people’s lives and health and create favorable conditions for enterprises to strengthen investment cooperation...
