Various activities to mark the 40 years of the South liberation

Recently, the anniversary of 40 years of the South liberation and nation unification, many localities of the province eyed prominent activities, reanimating the glorious days of April 40 years ago. This is also an opportunity for today's younger generations to remember people legacy and live as worthy of the sacrifices of the precedents.

To help younger generations understand the glorious fight of Thu Dau Mot armed force and people in the historic April, Propaganda and Education of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee, and Society of History Science coordinated to hold a talk on anniversary of 40 years of Thu Dau Mot Town liberation. In the cozy setting of the talk, younger participants listened to war veterans, who were parts of combat, liberation, and taking-over of Thu Dau Mot in 1975, retelling the stories and glorious memories. Particularly, the memories of preparation, attacks, and taking-over of Thu Dau Mot showed the young participants of deepest challenges and hardship in the resistance war of the people.

40 years ago in April, local Party Committee, armed force, and people, upholding the victory determination and general power promotion, had taken the opportunities to up-rise and attack the enemy in Saigon to gain victory in one day after 20 years of preparation. The retold stories depicted the patriotism and sacrifices of local people of Thu Dau Mot in the historic victory of April 30 in 1975.

Aside from the talk, Thu Dau Mot City authority also solemnly held the celebration of 40-year anniversary of the South liberation and nation unification as well was the 125th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh. In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, heroic mothers and revolutionist veterans reviewed the heroic history of Thu Dau Mot people. The stories retold by them were so promoting to younger generations. Mrs. Vu Thanh Phuong, a veteran revolutionist of 55-year Party member inspired the youths by her wartime stories. She believed that each youth, nowadays, should be more aware of their roles in revolutionary activities to be worthy of the next generation of the Party.

In the meantime, Bau Bang District also gathered to celebrate 40 years of the South liberation and nation unification. Aside from review of the history, the delegates retold their wartime stories.

In Di An Town, veteran revolutionists, heroic mothers, people’s armed force heroes and heroines, labor heroes, local armed force, and majority of the public were present at a meeting to celebrate 40 years of the South liberation and nation unification. In 40 years, the event was the best gathering to review the past. The meeting was so impressive by the procession of units and establishments through the stadium and unity depiction of local Party, authority, and people of Di An Town in the cause of constructing and developing the prosperous homeland.
