Vegetables reach the peak

From the beginning of the year, taking advantage of favorable weather, vegetable farmers continue to grow more crops preparing for the coming Tet holiday. In the meantime, purchase prices of vegetables are relatively high at the moment imposed on salad, bitter melon, egg plant, doc mung (Night-scented Lily), etc. averagely from VND 4,000 to VND 6,000 per kilogram.

 

Farmers are worry-free about good weather and market prices.

 

 “In recently years, cold weather sometimes brings up frost making vegetables withered and limiting their growth; therefore, we can not sell for high prices. This year, the weather is more favorable and I am encouraged to extend the crop to prepare for the upcoming Tet,” said Ms. Nam Hoa residing at Thanh Hoi Commune, Tan Uyen District.

“Good weather and the newly constructed bridge in Thanh Hoi have helped me out of difficulties in buying materials and fertilizers and facilitate better vegetables sell out. The prices are closer to market price. I am hopeful that the weather should stay like this, I am happy with the crops in such weather,” Ms. Sau, a farmer in Thanh Hoi, said joyfully.

Farmers like Ms. Nam Hoa and Ms. Sau are actively prepare land to grow more crops in an attempt to sell their produces at high prices. Meanwhile, fruits are nurtured preparing for Tet sell out.

 “Currently, salespersons are asking to buy pamelo in my garden but the time is not ripe for me. In such a favorable weather, I have no worry about influences on the fruits as well as the market prices,” said Mr. Phong, a pamelo gardener in Bach Dang, Tan Uyen. Almost as a market rule, Tet holiday promotes consumption of vegetables. Salespersons confirm to us that they are ready to buy all that are harvested.

“In such a peak of crop harvest, local People’s Committee supports farmers by policies and infrastructure investment to offer favorable conditions for crops as well as market sales,” said Mr. Dao Van No – Chairman of Thanh Hoi Farmers’ Association.
