- Sir, on the occasion of the 91st founding anniversary of the Vietnam National United Front, could you review the glorious milestones of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) during the past 91 years?

- During the past 91 years, under the leadership of the Party, in each revolutionary period with different organizational forms and names, the VFF has constantly grown and always fulfilled its glorious mission, making great contributions to the great revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, consolidating and upholding the strength of the great unity bloc of the whole people. On November 18, 1930, the Central Standing Committee of the Communist Party of Indochina issued a directive on the establishment of the Allied Anti-Imperialism Association - the first form of the United National Front of Vietnam (now being the Vietnam Fatherland Front). The history of the United National Front of Vietnam is the process of formation, improvement and development in theory, movement and organization. Under the banner of the organizations of the United National Front of Vietnam, our people united to conduct revolutionary struggle movements, in which the birth of the Viet Minh Front on May 19, 1941 was the first outstanding development step of the Fatherland Front in terms of guidelines, organization and activities, making the victory of the historic August Revolution, taking power back to the people, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945), ushering in a new era for the nation: The era of national independence associated with socialism.

To meet the new requirements of the revolutionary cause and the development of the United National Front, on May 29, 1946, the Vietnam National Union was established-a new development step of the Vietnam National United Front. On March 3, 1951, the National Congress of the Viet Minh-Lien Viet United Front taking the name of the Vietnam National United Front was organized. Under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnam National United Front well performed its functions and tasks, contributing to the consolidation of the United National Front.

Entering the anti-American period to save the country, on September 10, 1955, the United National Front Congress convened in Hanoi. The congress decided to establish the Vietnam Fatherland Front and approved the Platform to unite all national forces, democracy and peace in the whole country. The Vietnam Fatherland Front made every effort to mobilize people from all strata to get involved in patriotism emulation, participate in economic recovery and cultural development, heal the wounds of war, and build up a socialist North. In the South, from the climax of the Southern people's struggle against the American imperialists and the henchman Ngo Dinh Diem's government, on December 20, 1960, the National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam was born. In 1968, the Alliance of the National, Democratic and Peaceful Forces of Vietnam was established, widely gathering all classes, religions, ethnic groups and patriotic people.

After the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975), the Congress of the United National Front of Vietnam in 1977 decided to merge 3 organizations: the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, the Alliance of the National, Democratic and Peaceful Forces of Vietnam, into the VFC.

Upholding the role and responsibility for the cause of national construction and defense in the new context, the VFF has constantly innovated contents and modes of operation in order to successfully realize the objectives set out in the next period.

 - Over the past years, how did provincial FFCs at all levels show their role as the center of the great national unity bloc? Especially, how is this role upheld in the local Covid-19 prevention and control, sir?

- Possible speaking, along with the glorious history of the VFC during the past 91 years, provincial FFCs at all levels made worthy contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation and the homeland. The most prominent role was to build the great national unity bloc, promoting democracy, strengthening social consensus, participating in the building of a pure and strong Party and political system. Through campaigns, the patriotic emulation movements of the Fatherland Front attracted a large number of people from all strata, arousing the strength among the people, contributing to the completion of tasks on politics and socio- economic development of the province, localities and units.

During the difficult days of "fighting the pandemic like fighting the enemy", we saw consensus and determination of the political system and people from all strata in the fight against the pandemic. People from all strata together with soldiers and medical staff; cadres, civil servants, Youth Union members, Fatherland Front officials at all levels...actively took part in the fight against the pandemic, thereby demonstrating the role of the Fatherland Front as the center of the great national unity…

- Sir, in order to improve the effectiveness of the campaign launched by the Front, how has provincial FFC innovated its operation method?

 - Provincial FFCs at all levels have always paid special attachment to improving the operational contents and modes of operation, improving the quality of campaigns and emulation movements close to the reality, linked with the interests of the people, each family and the community in new conditions; well performed the role of chairing, coordinating and unifying actions among member organizations, overcoming overlaps in the implementation of movements and campaigns…Therefore, the quality and effectiveness of campaigns and movements of the Fatherland Front and its member organizations are expanded with practical effect.

The method of mobilizing, helping and caring for the poor has also had many innovations. Particularly, provincial FFC directly mobilized resources while guiding and connecting enterprises, organizations, individuals and donors to implement direct assistance to the poor and localities. Provincial FFC also presided over consultations so that its member organizations could help households rise out of poverty sustainably…

- Thank you!

“Binh Duong has just gone through a very difficult period with countless challenges when the 4th Covid-19 pandemic broke out strongly. The pandemic has caused great material and spiritual losses; but also through the pandemic, the spirit of solidarity and sharing was once again promoted strongly and humanely. Also thanks to the spirit of solidarity, joint efforts, solidarity and consensus from all-level authorities to people from all strata, the province has controlled the pandemic successfully, taking care of social welfare and bringing people's lives back to the "new normal" state. (Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee).
