In recent days, various activities in response to the 2024 Digital Transformation Day have been organized across the province in forms that align with local realities and the purpose, requirements and theme of this year’s Digital Transformation Day: "Developing digital economy to drive rapid and sustainable socio-economic growth".

Diverse activities

According to Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee, the purpose of organizing activities in response to the 2024 Digital Transformation Day is to accelerate the progress of implementing national digital transformation tasks and effectively carry out provincial Party Committee's Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU dated May 19, 2022, regarding Binh Duong's digital transformation until 2025, with a vision to 2030. The plan aims at increasing the role and responsibility of officials, civil servants, employees and citizens by promoting the significance and benefits of digital innovation for the development of the digital economy, creating new momentum for economic growth and labor productivity. It also promotes the participation of the entire political system, ensuring synchronous actions at all levels and the involvement of the entire population in ensuring the success of the digital transformation process.

This year’s digital transformation activities focus on three messages: “Universalizing digital infrastructure and creating digital applications to develop digital economy – a new driver for economic growth and labor productivity”; “Developing digital economy with four pillars: IT industry, digitalizing economic sectors, digital administration and digital data – crucial drivers for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development”; Binh Duong’s strategy to “stay strong, accelerate and advance”, focusing on improving digital transformation quality in all areas. No matter how challenging, these initiatives must be carried out with collective efforts to serve citizens and businesses, ensuring that no one is left behind.

Promoting citizens ‘role

Vo Minh Tuan, Deputy Head of Thu Dau Mat city’s Department of Culture and Information shared that the city has implemented various synchronous solutions to achieve its tasks, including a training program to equip residents with digital transformation skills and the launch of a network security incident response team in 2024; collaborated with Binh Duong's postal and telecommunications enterprises to showcase spaces for experiencing digital applications, digital data and artificial intelligence; introducing and equipping digital skills for the city's civil servants, employees and community digital technology teams in all 14 wards.

As part of these local efforts, Lai Thieu ward’s People's Committee has also launched a campaign to bring digital transformation to every household. Besides supporting digital signature registration, offering phones and guiding citizens in using online public services, Lai Thieu ward rapidly popularized basic AI platforms with the principle of “those who know teach those who don’t”, “those who know more teach those who know less”. This approach helps officials, Party members and citizens improve their learning, working quality and efficiency, thereby contributing to rapid and sustainable socio-economic development in the area.

The community digital technology teams have been assigned the task of selecting and guiding citizens in using practical services and applications for developing digital economy and society such as online public services, cashless payments, e-commerce platforms; providing warnings against online scams to protect themselves and their families in the digital environment; effectively searching for information on the internet and applying AI in daily life...
