Vibrant colors welcoming 2025 New Year

During the 2025 New Year holiday, various cultural, artistic and sports activities are taking place across the province, creating a lively atmosphere and meeting the entertainment and leisure needs of the public. These events are part of a series of activities organized by the province and localities to commemorate the 28th anniversary of Binh Duong province’s establishment (January 1, 1997 - January 1, 2025).

Creating new momentum

As part of the activities celebrating the 2025 New Year and the 28th anniversary of the province’s establishment, recent events within the 2024 provincial Cultural - Culinary - Tourism and Trade Week, held at Thu Dau Mot park, have attracted tens of thousands of participants.

With thorough preparations by the organizers and coordination from relevant sectors to ensure security, order, food safety and hundreds of delicious dishes from participating units, the week has brought joy and satisfaction to both locals and tourists.

Under the plan of provincial Organization Committee for Major Holidays, in addition to the above-mentioned activities, several cultural and artistic events will take place in the coming days to celebrate the 2025 New Year. Notably, at 6:30 a.m. on December 29, 2024, the 26th annual “Welcome New Year 2025” Cross-Country Race was held. Organized by Binh Duong Radio and Television Station in collaboration with provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and other relevant departments, the event took place at provincial Administrative Center. This year’s race attracted approximately 10,000 participants across various categories, including team running, individual amateur and professional divisions as well as marathon and half-marathon events.

Especially, on the evening of December 31, 2024, the province will host a ceremony to honor outstanding collectives and individuals of 2024, combined with the awards ceremony of Binh Duong provincial identity design competition. The event will also feature an art program and a fireworks display to celebrate the 2025 New Year and the 28th anniversary of the establishment of Binh Duong province. The program will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. at the stage in the Central Park of provincial Administrative Center and will be broadcast live on Binh Duong Radio and Television Station.

It is known that on this occasion, Binh Duong will hold a low-altitude fireworks display lasting 15 minutes from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. at provincial Administrative Center. This program promises to attract a large number of people to enjoy the stunning fireworks, welcoming the New Year with a fresh sense of enthusiasm and excitement.

Bustling streets

In addition to provincial-level activities, districts and cities in the province will also organize various vibrant and exciting events during this occasion, creating a joyful and festive atmosphere for people from all strata.

In Thu Dau Mot city, local leaders shared that during the New Year holiday and the 28th anniversary of the province’s establishment, the city will host cultural, artistic, sports, and folk games, along with recreational activities. These events will take place at Thu Dau Mot Park, along the Bach Dang Walking Street and across all 14 wards in the city.

Accordingly, along with the renovation and decoration of miniatures to create a fresh atmosphere, Thu Dau Mot park will host cultural, artistic and sports activities celebrating the 28th anniversary of the province’s establishment and the 2025 New Year. To create a playground for athletes passionate about mountain bike racing in the city and promote the city's rich, diverse and unique tourism and community cultural activities to numerous tourists in and out of the city, it is expected that on January 1, 2025, at this park, the first Thu Dau City "terrain bike racing" tournament will take place.

From December 28, 2024, to January 1, 2025, the Bach Dang Walking Street area will host a variety of lively and novel activities, promising an exciting recreational space that will attract many locals and tourists. Along with the Hot Air Balloon Festival, a highlight of this New Year celebration, Thu Dau Mot city will host the first carnival festival themed “Dat Thu - Dance Towards the Future” 2025. The program, scheduled for January 1, 2025, will include activities, including a festival featuring parades of dance groups, a carnival decoration design contest and a parade. It is expected to captivate audiences with vibrant floats and dance performances ranging from traditional to modern styles, offering an engaging and thrilling experience.

Additionally, from December 28, 2024, to January 1, 2025, the Bach Dang Walking Street will host the “Dat Thu Cultural and Culinary Market”. This program will feature 61 booths displaying and selling delicious culinary dishes, OCOP-certified products and traditional craft items. Each evening, this space will also feature art performances for the public’s enjoyment. During these days, several parks, gardens and inner-city streets have been adorned with miniatures and street art renovations by relevant departments. These highlights not only bring excitement to the public, but also refresh the city’s urban landscape, creating a vibrant atmosphere to welcome locals and tourists during the early days of the New Year.

Early December 29, the opening ceremony of the Binh Duong Cross-Country Race in celebration of the New Year 2025 took place at provincial Convention and Exhibition Center. The 2025 event brought together nearly 10,000 runners from 40 teams in and out of the province. Athletes competed in two main categories: the amateur category and the professional category. In the amateur category, participants competed in 3km and 5km distances while the distances were 10km for men and 5km for women in the professional category.

Twelve hot air balloons will participate in the Hot Air Balloon festival under the the theme of “Fly high, my city”

Leaders of Thu Dau Mot city’s People's Committee announced that in order to bring a fresh, cheerful, warm and united atmosphere in celebration of the 2025 New Year, the city will host a Hot Air Balloon Festival themed “Fly High, My City”. The festival is scheduled to take place from January 1 to January 2, 2025, featuring 12 stunning hot air balloons.
