Vietcombank supports VND5 billion for local fight against Covid-19

Early August 12, Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee received VND5 billion from the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) to support the local social welfare, Covid-19 prevention and control.

Nguyen Thai Minh Quang, Director of Vietcombank’s Binh Duong branch said that the money aims to joins with the province in the fight against Covid-19, especially support frontline anti-Covid-19 forces. So far, Vietcombank has supported more than VND 200 billion for Covid-19 prevention and control. Particularly, Vietcombank ‘s Binh Duong branch previously donated nearly VND 1 billion and many medical equipment  such as medical protective equipment, medical masks, etc. to frontline forces in the fight against the pandemic.

Province-based Vietcombank branches are also implementing a plan to reduce interest rates and transaction fees for customers from July to the end of 2021, supporting them during this difficult period. In the coming time, Vietcombank will further join hands with the province to soon prevent and repel the pandemic, bringing a peaceful life to the people while ensuring safe production and business activities for enterprises and financial-banking activities", said Mr. Quang.

At the reception, on behalf of the local Party, government and people, Mr. Loc expressed his gratitude for contributions by units, businesses and individuals, including Vietcombank in the local fight against the pandemic. This support will help the province take care of the lives of people and workers facing difficulties, due to Covid-19 pandemic.
