Vietjet Air received an A321ceo Sharklets at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport on March 22, the fifth aircraft from an order of 100 purchased and leased planes from Airbus.

The 220-seat A321ceo Sharklets, coded VN-A651, belongs to the latest generation of Airbus’ narrow body jet that saves fuel and minimises emissions and noise.

It is also the 9,000th A321 produced by Airbus and the first A321 in Vietjet Air’s 23-strong fleet.

Vietjet Air is currently operating 150 flights each day with 28 routes to domestic destinations and a number of international flights to Singapore, Thailand, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), and Cambodia.

The airline is planning to develop its Asia-Pacific network and establish longer routes to Europe.
