Vietnam competes at chess tourney

Vietnam’s chess team
is competing at the Asian Zone 3.3 chess championships which opened on May 23
in Subic, the Philippines.
At stake are two places at the 2011 World Chess Cup scheduled later this year in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.
Vietnam’s Pham Le Thao Nguyen and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son are qualified for the competition after having won a silver and bronze medal at the recent Asian Individual Chess Championships in Mashhad, Iran.
