Vietnam Day celebrated in the UK

The Vietnam Students Association in Leeds (VietSocLeeds), England, organized a Vietnam Day with a range of activities to promote the country, its people and culture to international friends.

The event coincided with National Reunification Day (April 30).

VietSocLeeds also held an exhibition of photographs of Vietnam and items representing Vietnamese culture.

International friends had an opportunity to try wearing aodai (Vietnamese traditional dress) and buy souvenirs such as silk scarves, embroidered pictures, and wooden statues, with all the proceeds from sales going to support poor children in the northwestern mountainous region of Vietnam.

A variety of performances, fashion shows, dances and songs about the homeland also impressed the international audience.
