Update: 29-04-2012 | 00:00:00

Host player Thueanklang opened the scoring on 2 minutes and extended Thailand’s lead three minutes later.

Quynh Toan raised hopes for the visiting team, hammering the ball into the back of the net on 15 minutes.

It took few Vietnamese spectators at Bangkok Thornburi stadium only several minutes to celebrate additional goals by Toan’s team mates, Van Vu, Trong Thien and Hoang Vinh.

However, coach Sergio’s players did not repel powerful Thai counterattacks after Thanh Tuan was red-carded.

Hosts Thailand performed well in the second half to finish the game with a score of 9-4, winning the championship title.

Vietnam topped Group A after defeating the Philippines 6-1, Myanmar 3-0, Cambodia 4-1, and Malaysia 7-2.

They outplayed strong rivals Indonesia 5-3 in the first semi-final match on April 25.

Vietnamese players left Bangkok for Hanoi on April 28.
