Afternoon Feb 29, the Presidium of Vietnam General Confederation of Labour led by Dang Ngoc Tung, Chairman of Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, had a working session with Binh Duong province. Nguyen Huu Tu, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Dang Minh Hung, Deputy Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; and leaders of provincial Labour Federation, relevant units worked with the delegation.
At the meeting, provincial Labour Federation representatives reported the implementation results of Resolutions of the 11th Vietnam Trade Union Congress and the 9th Binh Duong province Trade Union Congress in the half term. The province currently has 1 million workers, an increase of 180,000 people compared to 2013, in which 70% of workers were trained. The implementation of 4 action programs of the 11th Vietnam Trade Union Congress Resolution was also reported.
The Presidium appreciated the implementation of the 11th Vietnam Trade Union Congress Resolution of the province; and defined some Trade Union tasks, like: taking good care of worker’s life; representing and protecting union member and worker’s legitimate rights, interests; disseminating guidelines and laws among workers; launching patriotic emulation movements among union members and workers; union member development; building strong trade unions, improving the quality and effectiveness of union staff’s works…
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Tung appreciated activities of Binh Duong province Trade Union. At the conference, Mr. Tung also praised and conferred certificates of merit of Vietnam General Confederation of Labour on Binh Duong province Trade Union, due to good works of caring for workers on Tet occasion.
