Update: 14-09-2011 | 00:00:00

The two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Malaysia hit more than US$4 billion in 2011 and is expected to reach US$7 billion in the next few years.

This information was released on September 13 at a gathering to mark the 54th Malaysian National Day held by the Ho Chi Minh City Chapter of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations.

Malaysian Consul General Shazryll Zahiran and Chairman of the Vietnam-Malaysia Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City said the friendship and cooperative relations between the two countries have been developing strongly in the fields of politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, education, training, tourism, defence and security.

The value of bilateral trade between the two countries has continuously risen with more Malaysian investors doing business in Vietnam.
