Vietnam, Mexico bolster relations

Vietnamese ambassador to Mexico, Le Thanh Tung, paid a working visit to Monterrey in the Nuevo Leon region of northern Mexico from October 3-7 to strengthen ties between the two countries. 

During his visit, the ambassador attended a ceremony to announce a book on the Vietnamese Revolution and a photography exhibition about Vietnam and its people. He also delivered a speech at a seminar on business opportunities in Vietnam and talked with students from the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon.

He also paid courtesy visits to the General Secretary of Mexico’s Labour party, Senator Alberto Anaya Gutierrez, Prime Minister Javier Trevillo, and National Assembly Chairman Jorge Santiago Alanis Almaguer. 

At the meetings, Ambassador Tung thanked the Mexican people and highlighted their support to for Vietnam's national liberation and unification in the past as well as in its current national construction.

The ambassador reviewed Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements and development, especially in its of Doi Moi (Renewal) process, affirming that his country welcomes Mexican businesses, especially enterprises from Nuevo Leon, and encourages them to seek investment opportunities in Vietnam. 

Mexican leaders expressed admiration for Vietnam’s struggle for national construction and defense, saying they hope to strengthen and expand cooperative relations with Vietnam.

While in Monterrey, Ambassador Tung also attended the opening of the third World Congress and the 11th International Meeting on Pre-school Education.
