Vietnam sea and island - Our sovereignty

In 3 days (Oct 6, 7 and 8), at Thuan An Town Culture - Sports Center, an exhibition on maps and documents named “Hoang Sa (Paracel), Truong Sa (Spratly) – Historical and legal evidences”. Displayed photographs and documents helped confirm the righteous stance of Vietnam, raise the spirit of unity, a sense of responsibility of officials and the people in the cause national sovereignty protection over islands.

 

Youth union members of Thuan An Town visited the exhibition

The exhibition displayed 47 maps and valuable materials on Paracel and Spratly that were collected, evaluated, and printed by Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with relevant ministries, scientists, localities; some documents, images on the implementation and establishment and struggle for national sovereignty in the twentieth century, the early twenty-first century ... The exhibition also showed that the Party, State attached much importance to sovereignty and territorial integrity, independence and peaceful environment maintenance, appropriate combating measures. Vietnamese people, inside or outside the country, are always united to protect the sacred sovereignty of the country and are willing to act for national sovereignty.

In addition to the introduction of the glorious sovereignty protection history of the Party, State and the whole nation over Paracel and Spratly archipelagoes, the exhibition displayed 17 canvases themed “Beautiful and peaceful Vietnamese sea and islands” demonstrating the beauty and abundance of Vietnamese natural islands. Through images of beautiful, potential Vietnamese sea and islands, especially in the struggle, construction of peace in the East Sea at present, numerous union members of Thuan An Town have forged their own ambitions and aspirations. Nguyen Thi Van Anh (union members in Binh Hoa Ward), said: “Thanks to he exhibition, I had the opportunity to better understand the struggling history of sovereignty definition and protection over Paracel and Spratly archipelagoes”…

Nguyen Quang Vu, Vice President of Binh Hoa Ward Youth Federation, said: "The exhibition has provided truthful information that confirmed the righteous stance of Vietnam, raising the spirit of unity, responsibility of officials and people in the national sovereignty preservation over sea and islands. Thereby, youth union members understood as well as took practical actions to contributing to the protection and construction of Vietnam islands”.

The exhibition was organized by Thuan An Town Culture - Information Office in collaboration with Education and Training Office, Veterans’ Association and two Youth Union in order to raise all people strata’s awareness of Vietnam's sovereignty over the archipelagoes; thereby, evoking patriotism, solidarity and sense of responsibility of each citizen towards the sacred island sovereignty of the fatherland.
