Update: 30-09-2015 | 18:18:45

Deputy Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh received US Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken on September 29 as part of the Vietnamese delegation's external activities while attending the 70th UN General Assembly in New York.

The Vietnamese diplomat stressed the two countries should continue to intensify delegation exchanges and dialogue to further enhance bilateral relations while narrowing differences for the interests of both peoples, and for peace, stability, and development in the region.

Echoing Minh’s view, Blinken urged both sides to promptly finalize TPP negotiations, spur cooperation in trade, investment, science and technology, environment, and security and defense.

The two officials also compared notes on regional and international issues, including the East Sea and agreed that all disputes in the East Sea should be resolved by peaceful means in line with international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
