Vietnam will gain greater achievements: Lao Deputy PM

Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad said he is confident that Vietnam will gain even greater achievements under the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

Speaking at an August 27 reception given by CPV General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Hanoi, Deputy PM Lengsavad said he is delighted at the development of the relationship between the two Parties and two nations.

Mr Lengsavad passed on the best wishes of Choummaly Sayasone, Lao President and General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party to Mr Trong.

The Vietnamese Party leader spoke highly of the two governments’ effective cooperation in  implementing joint agreements and organizing activities for the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year 2012.

He praised the results of the mid-term meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee in Luang Prabang and asked both sides to work closely together to carry out projects, especially those under the Mekong sub-region framework.

Mr Trong also took the opportunity to convey his best wishes to his Lao counterpart Choummaly Sayasone and other Lao leaders.
