The bridge to attract investment

With an open and attractive investment environment, Binh Duong in recent years has always been one of the leading provinces and cities nationwide to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow. Currently, about 4,100 FDI projects in the province are accounted for a total capital resource of nearly USD 40 billion from 65 countries and territories. Binh Duong is currently ranked 2nd in the country in terms of FDI attraction after Ho Chi Minh city.

According to statistics in the province, about 130 projects are invested by overseas Vietnamese with a total capital of more than VND 4,300 billion in quite diverse investment fields. On average, each year more than 5,000 overseas Vietnamese enter and leave the province. From 2017 to 2023, the amount of remittances sent by overseas Vietnamese was estimated at over VND 4,000 billion, which rate is always rising year on year. The number of overseas Vietnamese returning home for research and investment cooperation is increasing, but the province has not yet fully exploited its potential and strengths as well as the resources from overseas Vietnamese.

According to Ha Thanh - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Binh Duong is implementing the Smart City and Innovation Zone Project, so the province will in the coming time continue to prioritize attracting investment in public sectors and fields of high, advanced, environmentally friendly, less labor intensive industries to create higher added value along with supporting industries, especially attracting investment in the Science and Technology Industrial Park on the basis of 4th industrial revolution with the goal of becoming the Innovation Center of the Southern Key Economic Region and with the desire to receive contributions from many different resources including knowledge, capital and experience of overseas Vietnamese businessmen to help the province develop quickly and sustainably.
