Update: 07-04-2012 | 00:00:00

Over the past five years, a charitable organization of Vietnamese students in Tomsk, Russia has been active in a wide range of activities to raise funds for charitable work.

All the money has been donated to poor people in Vietnam and orphans in Tomsk.

On April 1, the organization cooked and sold pho (noodle soup) to raise funds for a female student at Tomsk University who has cancer.

Tomsk is a city in Siberia nearly 4,000km from Moscow with few Vietnamese people so it was very difficult to buy the ingredients to make pho, said Nguyen Minh Tuan, a member of the organization.

The fundraiser attracted Vietnamese students and also international friends.
