A meaningful historical destination

According to the history of Tan Uyen Town, Vinh Loi War Zone was formed in 1946. In the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the US imperialists, Vinh Loi War Zone is the base of Chau Thanh District (belonging to Binh Dien general, Thu Dau Mot province), now in District 3, Vinh Tan ward, Tan Uyen Town.

In 1947, Chau Thanh District Party Committee was established at Vinh Loi base. After its establishment, the District Party Committee focused on building more Party committees and branches in Vinh Tan and other neighboring communes to directly direct the resistance movement. At the end of 1947, the army and people of Chau Thanh District carried out many fights against the base area and nearby communes, forcing the French to withdraw Tho Ut Station. Then, Vinh Loi Base was expanded to the east, connected to the vast War Zone D, our administrative and military agencies were also formed.

From 1973-1974, the revolutionary armed forces such as Phu Loi Battalion, 73rd Commando Company, 62nd Chau Thanh Company and Vinh Tan commune guerrillas continuously collaborated to fight against enemy sweeps into Vinh Loi War Zone, causing heavy damage to the enemy.

On April 29th 1975, the Provincial Party Committee gathered more than 400 officials at The Bamboo Forest base in Vinh Tan commune, implemented a plan of insurrection to liberate Thu Dau Mot. As a result, at 11:30 am on April 30, 1975, our troops liberated Thu Dau Mot, Chau Thanh district, destroyed and arrested many enemies.

Vinh Loi and Vinh Tan war zones contributed human resources and strengths to the revolution. These forces made sacrifice, overcame numerous hardships and fierceness of the battlefield; retained and promoted its role as a logistics base, a solid springboard in the resistance war.
