VND 1 million per capita given to poor and meritous families

Binh Duong provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision on supporting people with meritorious services to the revolution and people from poor and nearly-poor households along with people receiving monthly social protection allowances in the province as affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.

Accordingly, the eligible subjects are people with meritorious services and their relatives who are receiving monthly allowances according to the provisions of the Ordinance on Incentives for people with meritorious services to the revolution including martyrs' spouses who get married or have other wives; who are enjoying the monthly preferential allowances under the Prime Minister's Decisions, people from poor and nearly-poor households according to the criteria of the province and who are receiving monthly social protection allowances. The one-time allowance is VND 1 million a person. The payment term is from the date of issuance of the Decision to the end of December 31, 2021.

The provincial People's Committee assigned Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to assume the prime responsibility for and coordinate with relevant departments and agencies in guiding localities to implement, in organizing inspection and supervision of districts, towns and cities to carry out the allowance payments to the right audience and in timely and effective manner. At the same time, it is requested that the provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations and mass organizations should participate in propagating and disseminating the policy and mobilize union members of their organizations to participate in the support, inspection and supervision of the implementation of the above Decision.
