VND6.5bln spent on humanitarian activities
Provincial Red Cross Society last month mobilized more than VND6.5bln to offer help to 93,138 poor people in and out of the province and in Cambodia under the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”.
The society used the fund to visit and present 500 gifts to poor people in Cambodia’s Karatie province on the occasion of the Chol Chnam Thmay festival; visited and presented 200 gifts worth VND280mln to the poor in Cho Moi district’s Tan My commune in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang; awarded 86 scholarships worth VND42mln; built 2 “red cross” houses worth VND100mln; visited poor patients; mobilized 7,558 kg of rice worth more than VND200mln for charity kitchens…
