Vocational training for rural laborers in association with job creation

Update: 20-02-2012 | 00:00:00

In 2012, the province’s vocational training for rural laborers will be diversified in association with cooperatives development and job creation, contributing to promoting the local economic structure shift process.

Vocational training for rural laborers has reaped considerable results over the past time. Particularly in 2011, provincial Vocational Training and Support Service Center for Farmers opened 15 short-term vocational training classes for nearly 900 farmers; of which there were 8 classes on how to tap rubber latex and others in line with urban agriculture like garden design, ways to grow various mushrooms…

Through vocational training classes, many farmers have bravely developed the models of appropriate agricultural production

Especially, the center teamed up with provincial Center of Scientific-Technology Advancements Application to organize 4 classes on how to grow safe vegetable under water culture technology for more than 150 farmers in Ben Cat, Tan Uyen districts and Di An, Thuan An towns.

The center also signed agreements on vocational training cooperation for farmers with provincial Agriculture-Forestry Junior College, provincial Ornamental Fish Association…

As a result, many laborers have sought suitable jobs after attending the above vocational training classes, contributing to solving the local joblessness. Noticeably, many laborers have bravely developed their own agricultural production models, bringing high economic efficiency.

Center director Truong Thanh Quang said that the center has over time made efforts to open vocational training classes in line with the province’s common orientations. But now, vocational training classes have not met the local farmers’ demand yet…

Hence, in 2012, the province will diversify forms of vocational training for rural laborers. Particularly, 24 vocational training classes will be opened for around 1,000 learners with main skills on tapping rubber latex, growing ornamental trees, mushrooms…This task will be associated with cooperatives development and job creation, contributing to promoting the local process of economic structure shift.

Mr.Quang added that his center will further speed up propaganda on vocational training policies and launch emulation movements in learning and creation among farmers; take initiative in giving vocational training for farmers and giving them jobs.

The province’s agriculture sector is gradually shifting to urban trend. Thus, farmers need appropriate classes on vocational training in order to help them change their agricultural production models for better development.
