More than 1,000 volunteers gathered in Hanoi to attend the inauguration ceremony of the “Voluntary Heart” festival on November 25.

The participants cycled along five streets, calling on spectators to join the ongoing blood donation campaign.

The festival, scheduled to officially launch in Hanoi’s Hoa Binh Park on December 5, is part of the activities organised in response to International Volunteer Day.

Run by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and the Hanoi Blood Donation Youth Association, the festival aims to attract the attention of 100,000 people via social networks, involve 50 social organisations and businesses, and collect 3,000 units of donated blood to help the needed patients.
