VOV – a leading media agency in Vietnam
Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV) is making great efforts to increase its radio coverage to 100 percent of Vietnam’s territory and the East Sea.
A VOV senior official said this on June 14 while reporting VOV’s recent achievements to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, who paid a working visit to VOV Headquarters on the occasion of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).VOV has also worked closely with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to launch various programmes such as Entertainment, Culture, Sports, and Vision of UNESCO.
Speaking at the working session, Deputy PM Nhan highlighted VOV’s achievements and asked its staff to try their best to retain its leading position by providing accurate, timely, and interesting information.
VOV should aim to become the government’s and people’s reliable media agency, he said, adding that there should be more programmes to promote communication about preserving and developing the country’s cultural identity in the context of global integration.
The Deputy PM also urged VOV to complete its 2010-2015 strategic plan by the third quarter this year, actively participate in the project to reform its financial management mechanism, and create more incentives for its staff.
During his visit to VOVNews, Mr. Nhan praised the working spirit of all the reporters, editors, and technicians who have overcome any difficulties to fulfill their communication tasks.
Speaking highly of VOVNews’s management of reader feedback, Mr. Nhan suggested giving readers awards to encourage them to contribute more ideas to improve the quality of the newspaper.
Deputy PM Nhan also visited the News and Current Affairs Channel on the same day.
