VSIP’s Party Committee: Studying and following Uncle Ho in association with taking care of workers

Studying and following Uncle Ho at the Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP)’s Party Committee has been implemented by Party committees and executive committees of trade unions at enterprises with good and effective ways in association with professional work to constantly bring more beneficial policies to workers.

Implementing policies that are more beneficial to employees

Do Quang Trung, Vice-Secretary of the Party Cell 1 under VSIP’s Party Committee, Chairman of Nitto Denko Vietnam Co., Ltd.’s trade union local said that studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle has been implemented by the company’s Party Committee and trade union local under the annual themes associated with professional work at the company. “Especially, we focus on representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of trade unionists and employees. Over the past time, the company’s trade union local actively monitored the implementation of the company's legal policies on wages, social insurance, health insurance and other policies related to employees while being proactive to research and contribute ideas to amending and supplementing labor regulations and salary scales to ensure the rights and interests of employees. In addition, every year, we are proactive to coordinate with enterprises to well implement grassroots democracy regulations at the workplace through organizing employee conferences and periodic dialogues at the workplace. As a result, workers’ legitimate questions and opinions were answered by the company's directorate with appropriate adjustments. Therefore, employees feel secure in working with the company for a long time".

Tombow Vietnam Co., Ltd.’s trade union local gives gifts for workers with difficult circumstances

Noticeably, the Executive Board of the company's trade union local has successfully built and negotiated to sign a collective labor agreement with the directorate, with more beneficial regulations for employees...Under the Executive Board of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor’s Conclusion No. 03/KL-BCH on further implementing the Resolution No. 7c/NQ-BCH on "Quality of shift meals for workers", the company’s trade union local has mobilized the company’s directorate to improve the quality of shift meals for workers, with a standard meal of VND 25,000, a delicious meal of nearly VND 33,000 and a special meal of VND 43,500 to ensure workers ‘health.

Dinh Thi Thoa, Vice-Secretary of the Party Cell 2 under VSIP’s Party Committee, Chairwoman of Tombow Vietnam Co., Ltd.’s trade union local said that studying and following Uncle Ho is associated with daily work by the company’s Party Committee and trade union local. Party members and trade union officials always uphold their responsibility to take the lead in professional work, movements and set an example of high discipline. Trade unionists and employees always comply with the law, rules and regulations of the company, enthusiastically compete to participate in the movement of good production..., thereby improving the efficiency of production, business and taking care of employees’ rights and interests, contributing to building up harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations at the company.

“Especially, we are always close to trade unionists and employees to grasp their thoughts and aspirations, thereby serving as a basis for building, negotiating and signing a collective labor agreement with the company's directorate on regulations that are more beneficial to employees. Particularly, the company supports employees with the housing costs of VND 200,000 - VND300,000  per person per month. Each worker is also supported 10 liters of gasoline per month. In addition to the weekly Sunday off, employees are also given 24 additional Saturdays off per year by the company...", Mrs. Thoa shared.

Improving efficiency of care work

Along with material care activities, trade union locals in VSIP have coordinated with enterprises to organize healthy and useful playgrounds for workers after work. Mr.Trung said that the company's trade union local has cooperated with the company's directorate to maintain the organization of regular sports festivals at the company level, with 19 events:  football, volleyball, badminton, chess, checkers, billiards… together with culture-arts activities, with the participation of a large number of employees, contributing to creating a healthy playground for employees after stressful working hours. Nguyen Thi Thu Nga, who has worked at Tombow Vietnam Co., Ltd. for more than 13 years shared: "The practical care policies from the company’s directorate and trade union local have created motivation for employees to work with peace of mind and have a long-term relationship with the company".

The VSIP’s Park Committee has actively deployed the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW on further implementing the Directive No. 05-CT/TW "On acceleration of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and lifestyle" among officials, Party members, trade unionists and employees. Through studying and following Uncle Ho, many groups and individuals have appeared in enterprises with outstanding achievements in the labor movement and trade union activities. Particularly, the work of taking care of material and spiritual lives, representing and protecting employees’ legitimate rights and interests, making political and ideological education and propaganda among them have been implemented well,  contributing to bringing more beneficial policies to workers while building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises.

The VSIP’s Party Committee has implemented the 2024 special subject of studying and following Uncle Ho: "Applying Ho Chi Minh's thought in the process of formulating and implementing resolutions so that “the Party's will meets the people's hearts". Particularly, setting up plans, registering to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and lifestyle from groups and individuals needs to focus on closely following thematic contents in 2024. Following Uncle Ho is associated with assigned responsibilities and tasks. Carrying out the responsibility to set an example is associated with regulations on the responsibility of setting an example of officials and Party members and moral standards of each agency, unit and enterprise.
