According to Nguyen Ngoc Chau, staff of provincial Natural Resources and Environment Department’s Environmental Protection Division, in 2010, the division will step up inspection over environmental protection. Particularly, it will focus on checking the implementation of regulations on environmental protection at establishments that have been granted license for transporting, treating harmful waste and importing waste.

Since early this year, the division has made inspections at 50 such establishments. The inspection result indicated that the majority of them made lots of mistakes for change. Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment Department has also teamed up with functional agencies and localities to absolutely solve the issues related to environmental pollution;  further checked and make public the list of establishments that cause environmental pollution for timely solution…

Thanks to the inspection, supervision work well implemented, there have so far been 45 out of 104 businesses free from the list of establishments that cause environmental pollution or basically fulfilling measures to improve environmental pollution. The province’s functional agencies also imposed administrative punishment on 43 businesses that did not take measures to improve environmental pollution as required; cooperated with Dong Nai, HCM city to take measures to improve Ba Bo canal, Siep stream; teamed up with relevant agenices to solve the incident of wastewater reservoir break at Sanmiguel Pure Foods Co.Ltd in a timely manner.
