Provincial Steering Board for the Week for Young Workers has just organized a conference to review the results of the 2013 provincial Week for Workers and summer activities and define orientations for 2014.
The program of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” brought Vietnamese goods to young workers during the 6th provincial Week for Young Workers
Going along with young workers
The 6th provincial Week for Young Workers took place from May 1 to 7, 2013. This program was organized under a big size at all levels with a lot of practical and diversified activities, absorbing the participation of 3,000 Youth Union members and young workers.
Many significant activities were organized during the week, including market-days of “bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” (or called “joyful market-days”), job festive days for youth, “Green Sundays”, gift visits to young workers with difficult circumstances, programs providing free medical check-ups and medicine for young workers…
Noticeably, the “market-day” program of “bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” drew more than 1,800 laborers, 1,440 of whom were directly interviewed by recruiters. Provincial Support Fund for Poor Alien Youth also awarded 48 support packages of VND48mln to young workers with difficult circumstances. In addition, provincial Youth Federation teamed up with provincial Young Physicians’ Club to provide free medical check-ups and medicine for young workers in Dau Tieng district’s Minh Hoa commune with a total expense of more than VND16mln along with many other significant activities.
The whole province is now home to more than 700,000 laborers, around two thirds of whom are young people. Hence, taking care of the spiritual and material lives of young workers herein is a necessary deed, contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development. Along with advantages, this task faces some difficulties, due to the impacts of the global economic downturn….
Attaching special importance to alien young workers
At the conference, participating delegates acknowledged achievements done during the 2013 provincial Week for Young Workers and Month for Youth.
The above achievements created an useful playground for young workers after hard working hours, contributing to offering assistance to those with difficult circumstances; simultaneously emphasized that alien youth have so far accounted for a majority of the province’s workforce. Hence, there needs to be more synchronous in cooperation between the local authorities at all levels for activities taking care of alien youth.
For the 2014 provincial Week for Young Workers and Month for Youth getting the set targets, provincial Youth Union and Labor Youth need to cooperate with relevant agencies to make more significant programs for young workers, especially they will attach special importance to activities for female young workers. Besides, Steering Board for the Week for Young Workers at all levels will focus on organizing activities that are in line with each locality’s real situation…
