In addition to contributing to the construction of a strong trade union organization and taking good care of the lives of workers in the enterprise, they also have many initiatives and innovations in production, bringing in billions of VND for the company each year. They are 3 exemplary workers in Binh Duong who were honored by the Vietnam General Trade Union at the National Labor Productivity Enhancement Forum in 2024.

Non-stop striving to build a strong trade union

Mr. Mai Phu Hung, Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Dĩ An City), is a person who regularly has initiatives and creativity in production labor, contributing to the construction of a strong trade union organization. Mr. Hung confided: "Regardless of the field I work in, my viewpoint is to dedicate myself and help the enterprise develop more and take better care of the workers."

In trade union activities, although he lacks experience, Mr. Hung always listens to every opinion and contribution, no matter how small, from workers to build harmonious relationships between workers and businesses, and take better care of workers. In his 6 years as Deputy Chairman of the company's trade union, he has had initiatives to build a trade union organization that workers care about and support, such as proposing the construction of a nursery for workers' children in My Phuoc Ward, Ben Cat Town. A dedicated school for the children of workers has been established and is now operational, meeting the demand to enroll nearly 200 workers' children.

Another meaningful initiative of Mr. Hung is the proposal for businesses to reward long-term employees with company loyalty. Accordingly, the grassroots trade union proposes and is approved by the company's Board of Directors to implement this plan annually with the form of organizing parties and commendation ceremonies. The positive forms include certificates of merit, commemorative medals, and cash rewards with specific amounts, such as: If working for 10 years, you will be rewarded 2 million VND, for 15 years of seniority, you will be rewarded 3 - 6 million VND, and for 20 years or more, you will be rewarded 8 million VND. The results, up to now, have seen over 2,000 officials and employees in the company being commended and rewarded with a total amount of over 12 billion VND; creating consensus, satisfaction, and attachment of trade union members to the trade union organization and the enterprise.

To be honored at the "National Labor Productivity Forum" in 2024, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vuong, Deputy Head of Production at Foster Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd. (Thu Dau Mot City) is a person who has made great efforts and innovations in the company. As an industrial electrical engineer, during more than 16 years of working at the company, Mr. Vuong himself has continuously learned, accumulated practical experience to come up with optimal innovations, applied in production reality, bringing in billions of profits for the company every year. Besides imparting experience to the young workforce, I myself have at least one high-quality initiative every year. I also actively participate in movements within the company such as increasing productivity, improving quality, machinery and equipment, and reducing material consumption initiated by the company's grassroots trade union.

Vuong said: “I always proactively implement the set plans well. That is to evaluate the quality level, design, and product completion of customers to propose appropriate solutions, ensuring the goal of gaining trust and satisfaction from customers. I also directly participate and contribute opinions in meetings on production, occupational safety and health, and quality management at the company.”

Recently, Mr. Vuong has proposed an initiative to improve the reduction of defective products, thereby saving the company approximately $70,000 per year in material costs. In addition, he suggests the idea of reusing materials by creating a guide for separating reusable materials, establishing an inspection guide, and training workers to follow the instructions... saving approximately 1.6 billion VND per year in material costs.

With the task assigned by the company to supervise production, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Phuong, King Jim Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Ben Cat City) always deploys, assigns and implements well the work of controlling plans, monitoring exports and finished goods inventory, ensuring accurate and continuous reporting data. The three most recent initiatives that she has implemented are: Changing the production method and rationalizing the production line at Tdie 1 and 5 extrusion machines; Changing the production method and rationalizing the production line, combining the Holder machine parts and the finished product Holder parts during production; Increasing productivity when producing PLUS products with paper backing... has helped the company save over 1 billion VND per year.

According to Phuong, the movement of competition and creativity in enterprises has brought practical benefits to both the enterprises and the workers. As the enterprises continue to develop, the living standards of the workers will be improved and taken care of better. Therefore, she will continue to explore, think, and research to come up with initiatives in the future.

The forum of "Enhancing National Labor Productivity in 2024" is organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. This is an activity within the framework of the Workers' Month in 2024 and is a typical activity to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024). The forum is attended by 450 officials, union members, civil servants, and employees, including 95 outstanding workers selected for their creativity and high productivity from various sectors, localities, and units nationwide, which include 3 units from Binh Duong province.
