Workers called upon staying in their residence in Binh Duong province

Update: 02-08-2021 | 20:30:51

To mobilize people who are immigrants, especially workers, not to flock to their hometown, thereby, affecting the results of disease prevention and control, Binh Duong has strengthened propaganda to implement the Prime Minister's urgent telegram. The province is also actively keeping on mobilizing resources to ensure social security, to support and help people, especially workers and housemates in difficult circumstances to stabilize their lives during continual social distancing.

Social distancing continues

On July 31, in the face of the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, the government’s Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 1063/CD-TTg on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic. The public telegram required the southern provinces and cities that are implementing social distancing to promote widespread propaganda to strictly control and immediately implement necessary supporting measures in life and health for people's peace of mind and absolutely not to allow people to move out of the province until the social distancing is over, except for those authorized by the government.

In recent days, immigrant workers have rushed back home while breaching the Directive No. 16 of the Prime Minister on social distancing

Accordingly, the Prime Minister asked the provinces and cities directly under the central government to focus on directing the strong, drastic, substantive and effective implementation of specific measures to prevent and control the epidemic in accordance with the direction of the government, the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committee for the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, especially the implementation of the social distancing according to Directive No. 16/CT-TTg that requires to strictly and consistently follow high performance in accordance with the local practical situation. Localities should widely propagate to strictly control and immediately implement necessary measures to support life and health so that people can feel secure as staying in put; absolutely not to let people move out of their residence until the end of social distancing, except for those authorized by the government.

Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Standing Member and Head of the Propaganda of the provincial Party Committee, said that in recent days, many workers working and living in Binh Duong have spontaneously moved by motorbikes to get back to their hometowns. The action violated Directive 16 and made it difficult to organize receptions and quarantine of them at localities and families; thereby, increasing the risk of Covid-19 outbreaks. In the face of the above situation, the provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control requested the Steering Committee for Disease Prevention and Control at all levels to strictly direct the implementation of Directive 16 of the Prime Minister, absolutely not to move from the place of residence and to strictly punish those who go out on the street in contravention of regulations; people and workers in the provinces who are working, studying and living in Binh Duong are requested to stay and strictly abide by Directive 16," said Ms. Hanh.

According to Ms. Hanh, especially for workers who wish to return to their hometown, they can register with the locality for guidance, testing and creating conditions to return home officially and safely. Binh Duong province is implementing a plan to vaccinate all people and workers including temporary residents and is carrying out activities to take care of and support people's lives. In order for the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic to achieve good results, Binh Duong province expects people and workers to stay calm, rest assured and fully comply with the regulations of the health sector and do not move out of the place of residence to protect themselves and the community. This is the only way to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

To accelerate screening and actively support the public

Currently, Binh Duong province is conducting screening tests for SARS-CoV-2 for all people. Screening test results have found F0 cases in the community and residential areas and have conducted quarantine treatment; at the same time, they continue to investigate and trace, strengthen sampling and screen many times in "red zones" to continue scanning for F0 cases. As for the "blue zones", the province also directs localities to protect, control and strictly protect the areas that are clean from Covid-19.

According to the provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, the results of tracing and screening tests are only the first step in Covid-19 prevention and control. People need to always properly and fully comply with the "5K" message of Ministry of Health and well implement the regulations on social distancing according to Directive 16 of the Prime Minister, as well as the regulations on restricting going out from 18:00 the previous day to 6:00 the next morning to contribute to effective Covid-19 prevention and control.

Currently, the province is also calling and mobilizing hostel business owners in the area to share with the difficulties of workers and residents in the form of exemption and reduction of rents. At the same time, the province also continues to call for mobilization of resources to ensure social security, take care of and stabilize the lives of workers in hostels, quarantined areas and continue to call on localities, retired medical staffs, doctors and nurses to join hands to support the province in the care and treatment of Covid-19 patients in the area.
