Workers ‘festival: Sharing and connection

Programs and activities to take care of and support young workers have been diversified and constantly renewed by the local Youth Union branches at all levels. Among them, the "Workers’ festival" is a model replicated across the province, meeting the needs and aiming at practical care for young workers.

During the past 2 years, the Covid-19 pandemic with complicated developments has severely affected the lives of laborers and young workers in the province. Therefore, the local all-level authorities and sectors paid more attention to supporting and taking care of the lives of laborers and young workers.

Young workers with difficult circumstances receive gifts at the workers ‘festival

In late May, the workers ‘festival organized by provincial Youth Union took place on D1 street in the expanded South Tan Uyen Industrial Park in Tan Uyen town’s Hoi Nghia ward. One of the activities that took place in 3 consecutive days at the festival was a market-day selling goods at the original price, aiming at sharing difficulties with workers here. More than 20 types of products were necessities in life at lower prices than the market...

Besides, the festival also included a “zero dong" booth with 500 gifts worth more than VND70million for disadvantaged workers, programs providing free check-up, medicine and legal support. At the festival, young workers with difficult circumstances were consulted and introduced to suitable and stable jobs by employers. This booth attracted the attention of more than 500 young workers …

In 2022, the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic has been under control, but there are still difficulties directly affecting the lives of employees, disadvantaged people. In order to take care of and support needy people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in the current situation, provincial Youth Union Standing Committee implemented a program "Million welfare bags" with necessities distributed to district, town and city-level Youth Union branches. Particularly, provincial Youth Union directly presented 30 gifts under the "Million welfare bags" program to young workers with difficult circumstances, with a total value of about VND 12 million at the festival.

Playground connected

In order to improve the effectiveness of uniting and gathering young workers, especially those living away from home, the province’s Youth Union - Association branches at all levels have upheld their role of accompanying with innovative ways under workers’ aspirations. The activities and playgrounds implemented by the local Youth Union-Association branches at all levels have brought benefits, opportunely sharing with young workers living away from home.

Di An city’s Youth Union and Women’s Union branches at all levels have actively organized many activities to take care of the workers' lives. The Youth Union of Tan Binh ward has just held a festival for young workers with significant activities. The atmosphere of the festival was very joyful with the moments of entertainment on the weekend at the stalls with interesting games… The festival also featured a “zero dong” market-day, a singing contest, a national costume performance and a program on legal advice. Possibly speaking, these activities have met the needs of employees ‘spiritual life.

Along with that, the Youth Union and Youth Federation of Binh Thang ward organized a festival for workers with significant activities, comprising of a Vietnamese cake contest; a booth exchanging waste for gifts; a booth on law dissemination; a garbage sorting game... The festival created a healthy playground, propagandizing environmental protection and waste classification among young workers.

Whilst, the Youth Union and Youth Federation of Tuong Binh Hiep ward in Thu Dau Mot city also organized a festival for workers with such practical activities as providing free medical check-up, medicine, legal support, law dissemination...They also presented 50 gifts; donated 1 dream room and 1 health insurance card to young workers with difficult circumstances…

These meaningful activities have shown the attention of the local Youth Unions – Association branches at all levels for young workers at lodging facilities while trying to replicate useful playgrounds, contributing to taking care of, supporting and improving the material and spiritual lives of young workers living and working in the province.
