Working as Party cell secretary for nearly 20 years

Carrying on the responsibility of a leader, Pham Thi Yen, Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of the Executive Board of quarter 3 in Thuan An city’s An Phu ward always shares, understands, is close to the people and joins hands with the local authority to build up a more and more prosperous and beautiful quarter. Talking to her, we clearly felt the enthusiasm of a Party member who has been attached to and devoted herself to the local development for nearly 20 years.

After more than 30 years of working at Phu Phong Textile Company, trusted by the locality, Pham Thi Yen was elected as Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of the quarter 3’s Party cell. Mrs. Yen shared: "Even though being old, I will try my best to fulfill entrusted tasks when being trusted by the Party and people". That is also the reason why she has up to now  worked as  Party cell Secretary cum Head of the quarter 3’s Executive Board. She is one of the "one shoulder, two bamboo frames" cadres, always upholding responsibility and enthusiasm, upholding her leadership role and organizing the good implementation of the local political tasks.

The Party cell of the quarter 3 is now home to 61 Party members, most of whom are retired officials and workers taking jobs at companies and factories. The quarter’s Party cell always upholds the spirit of solidarity and mutual help, especially in effectively carrying out assigned political tasks. Upon this, the Party cell of quarter 3 has achieved the "Pure and Strong" title for many consecutive years.

As Head of the Executive Board of quarter 3, Mrs. Yen has been proactive to mobilize organizations and individuals to well implement grassroots democratic regulations and conventions of the quarter; regularly integrated the campaign of learning and following late President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and stylestyle in meetings; coordinated with the Fatherland Front and mass organizations to mobilize people to participate in and well implement movements and campaigns.

The quarter 3 has effectively implemented some movements and campaigns, namely “Mobilizing people to build a cultural and civilized urban lifestyle”; “Building a "civilized urban ward" in association with the "garbage-free quarter" model”; "All people participating in environmental protection", "All people protecting national security"... It is known that quarter 3 has completed the "Quarter without waste" model. There have been 98% of families achieving the "Cultural Family" title, 95% of lodging facilities and quarters with the "Cultural lodging facility” and “Cultural quarter” titles...

Especially, from the call of the quarter’s Party cell and Executive Board, people have said ok with building the "Security Light" model with the determination of installing lighting systems on all the local roads. Particularly, people voluntarily contributed funds to building a lighting system with more than 3km in total length, total cost of more than VND 365 million. 95% of the quarter’s major roads have been installed with lighting systems and the quarter is continuing to installing lighting systems on small roads.

The achievements done by the quarter 3 are the result of the harmony between the Party's will and the people's hearts with contributions by Mrs. Yen, who is always close to the people, arousing the spirit of solidarity, creativity and mobilizing the combined strength of the people to surmount difficulties and the promote the local movements.

Assessing about Mrs. Yen, Nguyen Van Dong, a resident of quarter 3 said: "Working as the Party cell Secretary and Head of the quarter’s Executive Board for many years, in addition to successfully completing all tasks assigned by the Party, government and people, Mrs. Yen has always maintained a exemplary and close lifestyle. sharing with the local people...".

The love and trust of the quarter 3’s people for Mrs. Yen do not come naturally. Her diligence and enthusiasm have aroused the sense of responsibility and exemplary behavior of the local Party members, the joint efforts and consensus of the people. “There was a time when I had a lot of work and responsibilities became heavier. In my heart, I also wanted to rest because I was getting older. However, the ward’s Party Committee and the quarter’s Party cell still stood side by side, encouraging me to strengthen my faith", Mrs. Yen said.

With her unremitting efforts, Mrs. Yen has been awarded the certificate of merit by Thuan An city’s People's Committee for her achievements in the five-year implementation of the Directive 05-CT/TW on "Acceleration of learning and following late President’s Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle”, the certificate of merit for her achievements in the emulation movement of "Bright example of seniors"... and many other awards. That is also the joy and encouragement for her to continue dedicating herself to political tasks and serving the people in the quarter.
