Workshop finding solutions to complete social housing and worker housing development projects

On September 26, Provincial School of Politics and Provincial Department of Construction jointly held a provincial scientific conference to contribute ideas on "Project for developing social housing and worker housing in Binh Duong province for the period 2021-2025, orientation by 2030”. Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Principal of Provincial School of Politics, chaired the conference. The conference was also attended by Nguyen Thi My Hang, Chairwoman of Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Van Danh, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairman of Provincial Labor Confederation; Vo Hoang Ngan, Director of Department of Construction; and representatives of relevant localities, departments and branches.

Speaking at the conference, Thao emphasized that in recent years, Binh Duong has become a bright spot in the country in terms of solving social housing for workers. However, the implementation process of social housing policies has revealed some difficulties and limitations. To overcome limitations and address housing needs for workers and low-income people, comprehensively evaluate the social housing needs of beneficiaries of social housing policies in the province in the coming time, the conference received critical comments, suggestions from experts, scientists, workers, social housing investors, businesses wishing to buy or rent social housing... On that basis, the province will complete and carry out of the project to effectively develop social housing and worker housing in Binh Duong province for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030.

At the conference, experts, scientists, managers, and businesses focused on exchanging and discussing to clarify theoretical, legal and practical issues about the draft social housing project; At the same time, make recommendations; propose solutions to overcome difficulties, limitations, inadequacies...

According to Department of Construction, by 2025 the province's social housing demand is expected to be 42,816 apartments, with a construction floor area of 1,926,720 square meters. From 2026 to 2030, the expected need for social housing is 86,396 people, equivalent to 86,396 apartments, with an area of 4,319,800 m2 of construction floor. The total estimated demand for social housing is 129,212 people, equivalent to 129,212 apartments.
