Workshop held on application of plant cell culture techniques and technologies into ornamental plant growing

On November 30, Binh Duong Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations in collaboration with Provincial Ornamental Association held a workshop on application of plant cell culture techniques and technologies in the development of ornamental plants.

At the workshop, the delegates listened to Master Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Head of Aquaculture Technology Support Department, Center for Agro-Technology Enterprise Incubation, made a presentation on "The role of aquatic plants and design techniques of an aquarium combined with plants and fish”; Engineer Pham Thi Thu Nhi, an expert from the Center for High-Tech Agricultural Research and Development, and topic "Propagating flowers and ornamental leaves by plant tissue culture"; Master Le Thi Ngoc Quy, an expert from the Center for High-Tech Agricultural Vocational Training, shared knowledge on topic "Economic potential and techniques for growing bonsai with technology application".

At the workshop, representatives of departments, branches, unions, scientists exchanged, discussed and contributed more opinions and knowledge on research, application and development of ornamental plants and flowers.

Lai Xuan Thanh, Chairman of the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations, said that purpose of the workshop is to popularize and share knowledge and experience in research and application of techniques and technologies to develop ornamental plants based on high-tech agriculture; localities and people would have more scientific arguments to enhance the application of techniques and technologies into ornamental plant and flower growing.
