The World Economic Forum honoured overseas Vietnamese entrepreneur Mitchell Pham as a Young Global Leader on March 9.

“Being named as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum is incredibly humbling,” said Mitchell Pham, who is director of the international technology group Augen.

“The network is made up of some extraordinary people from around the globe. It’s a unique opportunity and one that I am going to gratefully seize with both hands,” he said.

Mitchell Pham was born in Vietnam and has lived in New Zealand since he was 13. He said as an immigrant he had overcome numerous challenges to adapt to a new life and build up a successful career.

The Selection Committee, headed by Jordan’s Queen Rania Al Abdullah, chose Mitchell Pham and 190 others from all over the world following a careful screening of nearly 5000 candidates from a wide range of disciplines and sectors.

To receive the prestigious title, honourees must be under 40, have an exceptional record of achievement in leadership roles, and have demonstrated their commitment to society.
