Throughout the process of studying, training, dedicating and growing up, generations of Vietnamese students have always continued and promoted the glorious traditions of the previous generation. Vietnamese students in general and Binh Duong students in particular are the "both moral and talented" generation, with solid knowledge, ability to access the wisdom of the times, great ambitions, a beautiful lifestyle, inheritance of the traditional strength and national identity, has well demonstrated their role and responsibility to the community, contributing to promoting industrialization, modernization, building and protecting the homeland and country.

Glorious tradition

During the years of 1949-1950, the struggle movement of young people and students in urban areas took place continuously and widely, especially in Saigon - Gia Dinh. On January 9, 1950, more than 10,000 students, teachers and people, including leaders of the Saigon National Salvation Students, demonstrated, demanding security and release of arrested students. In that context, the heroic sacrifice of Tran Van On, a young man who represented the patriotism and indomitable struggling will of students, became a typical symbol of students ‘patriotism and indomitable struggling spirt at that time.

On the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students, provincial Students Association coordinates with provincial Study Promotion Association to award 100 scholarships to students with difficult circumstances

The first National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation took place in February 1950 and decided to take January 9 every year as the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students. After that, the 5th National Congress of the Vietnam Students Association took place from November 22 to 23, 1993 in Hanoi and decided to take January 9 as the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Students Association. In Binh Duong, provincial Students Association was officially established on January 8, 2010.

Proudly moving forward

As the new generation, Binh Duong students today follow the previous generation, continuing writing heroic pages of history, moving forward the technology and digital era. To achieve that, over the past time, students associations and Youth Union branches of schools in the province organized many activities to accompany students in studying and working. Many academic programs and playgrounds on scientific research were organized, with many students' ideas applied.

Clubs and groups of students studying and doing scientific research developed strongly, with many diverse activities. So far, the students associations of the schools have established 91 clubs, groups and teams of friends for scientific research with nearly 8,000 members. These clubs have always explored and diversified forms of exchange and learning methods.

Especially, many programs to help students go to school and award scholarships to students have been maintained and implemented regularly. For example, in the last tenure, provincial Students Association and its branches mobilized and awarded 1,500 scholarships to students with a total value of nearly VND 5 billion; introduced 30,000 jobs for students. Notably, provincial Students Association launched a project on "Lighting up the white dove's dream" with scholarships for students in the province with an initial value of VND 1.3 billion.

Not only being studious, Binh Duong's students are also a young generation who live responsibly and wholeheartedly volunteer to serve the community. That is shown through youth volunteer campaigns, activities. It can be seen that the number of students participating in volunteer activities has continuously increased over school years. Particularly, the annual "Giving strength in exam season" program has continued being implemented by provincial Students Association Secretariat in all districts, towns and cities in the province, in accordance with each national high-school graduation exam through school years.

The "Green Summer" campaign has deployed by most associations and continued playing a leading role in the annual Youth Volunteer Summer Campaign of Binh Duong province. The program of "Winter Volunteer", "Spring Volunteer" and the voluntary blood donation movement have attracted the participation of a large number of students with a total mobilized resource of billions of VND.

Le Tuan Anh, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union, Chairman of provincial Students Association said: "Over the past time, members and students in the entire province were active and proactive in studying, training and making scientific research; actively studied and researched the resolutions of Party congresses, Youth Union congresses and Students Association congresses at all levels with practical and appropriate contents. The highlight was that the implementation of the "student with 5 good performances" movement in the province achieved many encouraging results, comprising of propaganda work and the system of solutions to create an environment for participation in striving to achieve the title of "student with 5 good performances", reaching positive changes with the quality of "students with 5 good performances" at all levels improved. Provincial Students Association as well as schools continuously developed in both quantity and quality of members, with activities and movements becoming more and more practical, creating an environment for students to build ideals, practice ethics and manners, and equip many valuable skills to join hands in building up a civilized, modern, strong and prosperous and affectionate Binh Duong...

Over the past time, the Students Association of schools in the province has actively deployed propaganda to raise students' awareness of international integration, the ASEAN community and activities to establish diplomatic relations between Vietnam - Laos and Vietnam. - Cambodia. International exchange activities attracted the participation of numerous members and students.
