Xuan yeu thuong – the heart warming social program

In recent days, the Association of Women of Binh Duong province and the grassroots simultaneously visited and extended New Year's wishing to various places of the province. The members have contributed to a spring full of love by the meaningful trips.

Getting to socially privileged families, women and children in hardship

The provincial Association of Women has coordinated with the Office of NA Delegation under the provincial People’s Council to visit and offer gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers, officials and members of poor women, and disadvantaged children in the districts of Bau Bang and Dau Tieng on the occasion of welcoming the spring of 2022.

At the visiting places, the delegation gave Tet gifts. Mr. Pham Trong Nhan, Deputy Head of the provincial National Assembly Delegation kindly encouraged everyone, especially poor students for them to overcome hardship; he advised and encouraged them to continue schooling and to strive and practice more in life. On the occasion, the Office of the National Assembly Delegation under the provincial People's Council presented 50 gifts of VND 500,000 each. The members of the delegation also graciously visited, encouraged, and wished the heroic Vietnamese mothers, officers, members, women and children in difficulty to welcome the traditional New Year with warmth and joy.

Ms. Truong Thanh Nga, Chairwoman of the provincial Association of Women, said that in Bau Bang and Dau Tieng districts alone, the provincial Association of Women gave 56 gifts (including cash) with a total value of VND 51.8 million. “The most joyful and touching was when the delegation visited and wished the three heroic Vietnamese mothers in Dau Tieng town. Mother Nguyen Thi Dam (born in 1936); mother Tran Thi Co (born in 1930); Phung Thi Len's mother (born in 1926) were still lucid. The mothers talked, laughed and talked with everyone very happily. Mother Phung Thi Len, who is 96 years old this year, still tells people stories when they all gathered around her. After the difficult pandemic days, having warm and joyful moments like this is so precious and happy. The mothers also wished all those visiting in the group a spring of reunion and peace,” said Ms. Nga.

Trieu phan qua yeu thuong – a meaningful program

The Trieu phan qua yeu thuong (Millions of gifts to share love) is the following up program to get to those people affected by COVID-19 epidemic including the focus on frontline forces of epidemic prevention and control along with association officers, women, and children in harsh circumstances.

 “Accompanying the programs is the support of Unilever Vietnam Co. Ltd., Nestle, businesses, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province. Associations at all levels also depend on local circumstances and actual situations to help families of poor, disabled women, and especially disadvantaged people affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, children. orphaned by Covid-19 by visits and care-taking of socially privileged families while implementing border and island philanthropy during this Lunar New Year of 2022," said Ms. Nga.

According to Ms. Truong Thanh Nga, on December 27, 2021, the 11th provincial Congress of Women's Deputies of 2021-2026 was held. At the Congress, leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Association of Women awarded 26,900 gifts worth VND 8.1 billion to women and children in Binh Duong province through the program of "Millions of gifts to share love" and 130 gifts worth VND 142 million for the provincial Association of Women to take care of the Lunar New Year in 2022. The Standing Board of the provincial Association of Women agreed to allocate the gifts by the method of giving and assigning specialized departments and specialized officers of the provincial Association of Women to coordinate with the distribution units to receive and to promptly give gifts to the recipients of poor women and children on Tet holiday.
