Veteran journalists had been the examples of overcoming wartime hardship to orient the public by their collected information which is the utmost responsibility of a journalist. Throughout the history, local journalism had been a success in propaganda contributing to victory with minimum casualties. Journalists had been soldiers in the front line of culture and ideology with glory and pride.

To follow the tradition, generations of journalists have grown up to modern time – the time of journalism in information technology age.

Extending his words to younger journalists on the 90th anniversary of Vietnamese Journalism, journalist Nguyen Trung Hieu said: “I think that the young journalists are active, creative and well trained, they are better than us in the old time; however, they lack of collective spirit and even have low career ethics. I am upset by those journalists. To be worthy of a better generation, the young ones should uphold the noble revolutionary spirit to be close to the public and connect them with the Party so that collective power is formed in the stage of industrialization, modernization and urbanization. Young journalists should have strong political stance and rich knowledge to be worthy in the stage of building up a homeland.”
