Volunteers always go first

“Where there is a need, there is youth; where there is a difficulty, there is youth.” The youth in the medical sector has successfully completed the goals of phase 1 of the project "Piloting young volunteer doctors to work in mountainous, remote, border, island areas, and areas having especially difficult socio-economic conditions". This is evidence of how young people in the medical sector studied and followed Ho Chi Minh's moral example in 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awards certificates of merit from the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association to outstanding individuals in the association's work and youth movement in the medical sector in 2024.

The project is a breakthrough for the medical branch in ensuring a sufficient number of highly qualified and technical human resources to meet the healthcare needs of people in disadvantaged areas. From the project, hundreds of young people across the country have volunteered to work in 155 disadvantaged, border and island districts in 39 provinces and cities nationwide.

During the 2024 national youth health conference, several community health programs were held, such as: bringing music to hospitals; free medical examination, visiting and giving gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, veterans, wounded soldiers, and policy families in the province; seminars to promote digital transformation in healthcare - pioneering doctors. Activities were organized by the Binh Duong Province Young Physicians Association.

The project has deployed 404 doctors to 86 disadvantaged and border districts across 22 mountainous provinces in the North, Central, and Central Highlands. Currently, 70 doctors have graduated and are preparing for their handover, while 329 doctors are still in training. This initiative not only showcases the pioneering spirit of the youth but also helps to bring medical services closer to people living in remote areas with challenging socio-economic conditions.

At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Deputy Minister of Health, highlighted the strengths of youth in the medical sector. He noted that the Ministry of Health is one of the few ministries to have established a Youth Work Steering Committee, led by the Deputy Minister, along with a Club of Youth Union Secretaries from health units. This structure fosters the development and growth of the youth movement within the medical field.

Youth represent the backbone of the country and play a crucial role in shaping its future. The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that each Youth Union officer and member will continue to harness the passion of youth, regardless of their positions, to actively contribute to the mission of caring for and protecting the health of the people.

Passion for community health

The youth and volunteers in the medical sector across the nation, particularly in Binh Duong, continuously demonstrate their pioneering and creative roles. They work together to contribute to transforming Binh Duong into the industrial capital of the Southeast region.
