Drawing competition of the 14th Binh Duong Children's Fine Arts Prize 2023 attracted nearly 1,400 students from preschool, primary and secondary schools in the province with nearly 1,200 works. Among them, many youngster painters soon have a sense of responsibility to the social community and excellently express meaningful messages through their paintings.
NGUYEN HOANG TAN: Paint for a more beautiful environment
"In the summer, my family let me go to the beach, watch the waves crash, pick up shells on the beach and mingle and swim in the sea very much..."
That is the sharing of the class president of Class 3A of Huynh Thi Chau Primary School from Bac Tan Uyen district. He has just had a picture of the sea that won the A prize in the painting competition of the provincial Children's Fine Art Prize 2023.
Talking to us, Hoang Tan said that he really liked the sea and sea animals, so he drew the picture namely "Exploring the ocean". Through teachings and reference information, Tan learned that in the deep ocean, many sea creatures living next to the beautiful coral reefs. In Tan's painting, someone is sailing a ship out to sea to explore the ocean with many colorful sea creatures around. Through his paintings, Tan wants to show his affection for the sea and wants everyone to join hands to protect the sea as well as to protect the living environment around.
In addition to drawing individual pictures on paper, the class president and his teammates also competed in a collective painting competition with the topic of "We have fun with chickens" and won the A prize. The result helped Tan have more good lessons about the power of unity. Excited by these prestigious awards, Tan said: “My dream is to become a doctor to have knowledge to take care of people's health. In order to make my dream come true, I need to be obedient to my parents and teachers to study well and know how to do researches.”
DANG PHAM THANH TRUC: Painting helps the highlands
With a hobby of traveling and redrawing impressive landscapes, Dang Pham Thanh Truc, a student of Class 9A1 of Tru Van Tho Secondary School in Bau Bang district painted the picture of "Rice corn season in the highlands" and won the A prize in the category of painting on ceramics at the Painting Contest of the provincial Children's Fine Arts Award 2023. Also with the theme of the highlands, Truc and his teammates won the collective B prize with the picture of "Joining hands to help disadvantaged children in the highlands"; he won the encouragement prize for drawing individual pictures on paper with the painting of "Visiting the heroic mother of Vietnam".
Talking to us, Thanh Truc adored many beautiful scenes in Vietnam and that if she had time, I wanted to draw all the beautiful scenes that she had passed through as a souvenir. At each destination, there were very interesting stories about the land and people, and if all these ideas had been conveyed in pictures, it will help many people know the beauty of the country, so that they can come and contribute to helping the local people have a better life.
Sharing about her future dream, Thanh Truc said that she wanted to become a fashion designer and have her own brand. In order to realize this dream, she is still constantly improving her knowledge in terms of studies and culture due to its essence.
PHAM NGUYEN NGOC LINH: To promote culture by painting
"We went to see cheo dance" is a painting depicting the typical culture of Vietnam drawn by Pham Nguyen Ngoc Linh, a student of Class 7N4 of Binh Thang Secondary School in Di An city and won the A prize of individual painting category on ceramic and A prize in the category of individual painting on paper.
For Ngoc Linh, tuong cheo is one of the unique cultural heritages of Vietnam, so she wanted to draw pictures of the type of stage to spread to friends all over the world. Through books, newspapers, magazines and social networks, Ngoc Linh was very fond of and proud of the traditional cultural forms of the nation.
Sharing with us more about her dream of becoming an artist, Ngoc Linh said that every day she learned information about Vietnamese culture through books, newspapers and websites; practiced hard drawing skills and color coordination to be able to create the best pictures.
"Hopefully, I can promote my country's culture to countries around the world in my paintings," Ngoc Linh added.
